The independent voice of Takoma Park and Silver Spring, Maryland, since 1987

William Brown is a illustrator, cartoonist, and Morris dancer living in Takoma Park, Maryland. His work appears in such publications as The New York Times, Slate, the Washington Post, the Progressive, Newsday, and the Washington Times.

Citizen Bill appears in each issue of the Takoma Voice. A unique for of editorial cartoon, it depicts an archetypical Takoma Parkian and his family to comment on the issues and pressures of living in a proudly diverse, progressive, inner suburban, small city.
