2011 Election Forum

On Wednesday, October 19, the Takoma Voice held an election forum in its Community Center. Eric Bond and Bill Brown mediated the talk in which candidates from Wards 2, 3 and 6 of the City of Takoma Park came to discuss important issues regarding the community and the city at large. There was a changing of the guards, of sorts. Colleen Clay from Ward 2, Dan Robinson from Ward 3, and Josh Wright from Ward 1 (the departing Council Members) spoke first with the mediators to shed some light on the current troubling issues surrounding Takoma Park. There was talk, or advise, about how to handle the possible move of Washington Adventist Hospital as well as how the new district lines will affect the Takoma/Langley crossing. After a short talk from the current Mayor, who will continue into the next term, Bruce Williams, and Seth Grimes, running un-opposed for Ward 1, the showdown began.

Candidates running for Wards 2, 3, and 6 tackled some of the major issues the City must deal with this upcoming term.  Remember to cast your vote on Tuesday, November 8th.

Here are the list of candidates:

From Ward 2:

Time Male

Lorig Charkoudian

From Ward 3:
