Fox Guy

Walt Rave, Takoma Park resident, animal-rights activist and Tool Librarian died two years ago in December. He died as a result of burns suffered in a house fire, as reported in The Takoma Voice Dec. 11, 2011.

Rave was the subject of “Fox Guy,” an 8-page graphic-novel style piece by Takoma Park comics-artist Art Hondros in the Washington Post Sunday Magazine last March.  The artist and the Washingon Post Sunday Magazine have granted permission to reprint “Fox Guy” in The Takoma Voice.

Art Hondros has been cartooning, he says, “non-continuously” since age five. He received wrist-slappings for this activity in both high school and the US Navy.  His work has also appeared in Bethesda Magazine and Packingtown Review. He belongs to DC Conspiracy, a comic creators collective in the DC metro area. He is currently collaborating with Scott Mills on a graphic novel about Medieval Russia.

Beautiful tribute. I had never known all of that about Walt.
